About Us
We’re an off-leash dog hiking service based in Reno, Nevada
What we offer
Five-mile off-leash hikes with a small, carefully vetted group of up to five other dogs.
Hikes take around two hours from start to finish, not including our pick-up and drop-off service for those within our service radius.
Hikes are offered on weekdays in all weather, because we know that dogs need to exercise no matter what the elements are doing.

Meet Laura
After finishing graduate school and burning out on life as a desk jockey, I decided to try working with dogs. It started with a walk here and a housesitting gig there, just to get myself off the computer for a couple of hours. But it quickly took over my life. Now I’ve been walking dogs and pet sitting full-time for nearly five years.
I started Sierra Trail Paws because I saw a need for dogs to walk farther, explore more, have more freedom, get more stimulation, and socialize in a way that other services simply don’t offer. Off-leash trail hikes are more fun than walks around a neighborhood because the dogs have more fun. They can run back and forth, smell more interesting smells, and have more autonomy than they can on a leash. The happiest dogs I return home are dogs who have gone on an off-leash hike.
Most dog owners would love to hike with their dogs every day, but they simply don’t have the time. So I decided to start a service that caters to dogs who need more exercise than a one-hour walk, love hiking trails more than neighborhood sidewalks, and are well-behaved (enough 😉) to hike off-leash with a small group of dog friends. I know how good it feels to have a happy, fulfilled pup at home.
